Weather In Mauritius Page - Is It Helpful?Many people travelling to Mauritius have complained to me about the lack of detailed information on the web concerning the weather in Mauritius. My aim is to fill this gap. What do you think? If you're new to this site, then I would like to thank you for visiting. I'm very much looking forward to hearing what you have to say about Mauritius. I find that the weather is too hot in Mauritius during January and February so I prefer to travel there from May to November. Do you agree? FAQ's about the weather in Mauritius pageQuestion:Can you tell me where you have gathered the information from relating to this area and how accurate a representation you feel it is. Answer:The climatological and meteorological data obtained for this page has been gathered from five main sources. Three of these sources are listed at the bottom of the Mauritius weather page and they are scientific journals written by atmospheric scientists who specialised in Mauritius meteorology. The other two sources are derived from information I've obtained from the Mauritius Meteorological Service as well as the World Meteorological Organisation. I actually obtained 30-years of data and this data certainly helped me to collate and write the material on this page. As to the accuracy of the data, this information is meant to serve as an indication what to normally expect weather-wise for each month. I feel that the information provides a very good indication of what you may expect at least 80% of the time if you happen to stay in Mauritius for at one to two weeks. Question:Isn't this page really just another forecasting site? Answer:The weather in Mauritius page was never designed to be a long-range weather forecast since it is derived from climatological records. Most Meteorologists have enough trouble trying to predict beyond 3-5 days so my aim is not to compete with the Meteorologists but rather to complement what is already known about the general weather conditions in Mauritius for each month in various parts of the island. It's impossible to predict the weather with any accuracy beyond 7-days ahead, but even so, by looking back over climatological data one can surmise what the weather is normally like at a particular time of year over different parts of Mauritius.
